Gwyneth Paltrow’s living room features curved furniture for redefining design

Architecturally inspired curves are emerging as a dominant interior trend for 2025, replacing sharp angles and rigid lines with soft, rounded forms. In celebrity homes such as Gwyneth Paltrow's living room, designed by Brigette Romanek, curved furniture creates a sense of flow, movement, and sociability. Romanek explains that Paltrow prioritised 'mood and movement' over style alone, making curves central to the design.

Experts highlight that sofas, armchairs, and decorative pieces with organic, circular shapes soften spaces and encourage a cosseting, comfortable environment. Juliette Thomas of Juliettes Interiors notes that these pieces often feature light colours and textured fabrics like bouclé, emphasising comfort. Louisa Morgan from Mandarin Stone points out that curves reflect biophilic principles, offering visual and emotional relief from rigid, urban interiors.

Product examples include the Astrid Fringe Stool, sculptural ceramic vases, and arched floor lamps, all embracing the fluidity of curves while combining style and functionality. Sara Ramundo, Product Design Manager at Devon & Devon, summarises the trend as 'mouldings and curves that soften straight lines,' creating embracing spaces where purity and softness coexist.

With material innovations and a focus on human-centric design, curved furniture is set to remain a defining feature of interiors well into 2026, offering both aesthetic appeal and emotional comfort.
