A burglary at the auction house Lauritz.com in Aarhus on Sunday night resulted in the theft of items described as worth a "considerable amount", according to Michael Frederiksen, the company's district manager. The stolen items included high-value designer furniture.

Eastern Jutland Police confirmed the incident has been reported. Frederiksen stated that the auction house will cover the losses through insurance, explaining that "an assessment of the item is always prepared when it is handed in" and reimbursed at a realistic market value.
Lauritz.com, which conducts auctions both online and physically, was previously declared bankrupt in 2023 with DKK 185 million claimed against the bankruptcy estate. It was subsequently acquired by the owners of Auktionshuset Hørsholm, who retained the Lauritz.com name.
The company currently operates eight auction houses across Denmark, including locations in Aalborg, Odense and Roskilde. Lauritz.com has previously auctioned items belonging to Danish astronaut Andreas Mogensen, including a biodiversity ball and a T-shirt worn during a live call with the International Space Station.
