Selta, a long-established furniture store in Viborg, is making its largest investment in years to transform the area surrounding its Livøvej location. The store, which has operated since 1976, is renovating its façade and portal as part of broader plans to develop a shopping centre.

Owner Kåre Christensen intends to rent out 2,500 square metres of neighbouring warehouse space to other retailers, creating a destination that encourages more visitors. Christensen said, 'We want to create some synergy. When people shop here, there should be more good reasons to drive out to Selta.'
The initiative has received approval from Viborg Municipality, allowing retail operations in the warehouse space that Selta currently uses for storage. The expansion aims to combine the furniture store with complementary businesses to boost customer traffic and enhance the shopping experience.
This investment marks a strategic step for Selta to strengthen its market presence and attract new visitors to the western Viborg area, reflecting a broader trend among established retailers seeking growth through collaborative retail environments.
