Matt Phillips, Head of UK Operations at Rotpunkt, said:
"Creating a sense of belonging in the home, where people can share experiences and express their personal style, is swaying the design conversation towards long-lasting, authentically designed products that interact and evolve with the user. Driven by the uptrend to care more about the planet and ourselves, homeowners are seeking out kitchen solutions with artisanal qualities to create nurturing home environments that offer a seamless flow between the cooking, dining, and living areas."
According to Rotpunkt's design experts, the kitchen will continue to blend seamlessly with living spaces, adopting a more homely aesthetic. Fitted furniture is set to dominate over freestanding designs, as "contemporary lifestyles change how storage is planned and used in the home." Curved units and doors, non-standard dimensions, and large-scale display units will define next year's interiors, with adaptable wall panel systems and top-mounted pocket doors offering elegant, concealed storage for everything from pantry items to home bar essentials.
Quality materials will take centre stage, as "rustic minimalism combines the warmth of natural materials with the simplicity of minimalist design." The trend, aligned with the growing appeal of stealth wealth interiors, emphasises "quality over quantity" through rich textures and tone. Oak and walnut are expected to dominate, while "wood drenching" — an all-wood approach — will create immersive natural environments. Accents in brass, copper, steel, smoked glass, and super-matt finishes will add refined contrast, alongside earthy tones such as beige, grey, black, and baked-clay yellows.

Lighting will also evolve from practical necessity to expressive art form. "Accent lighting moves away from purely functional to artistic expression, with a focus on layered lighting schemes that bring contrast, influence mood, and promote relaxation." Integrated smart lighting will continue to rise, with the UK smart home market predicted to reach £25 billion by 2030.
Rotpunkt's 2026 kitchen innovations will be available from 1 January 2026, priced from £17,500 + VAT.
