Born from the encounter between Jessica Moritz's creative vision and Illulian's artisanal mastery, Quantum Dance transforms rugs into living surfaces, territories of perception where light vibrates through textures and tonal nuances.
Each piece is a unique artwork, hand-knotted in Nepal by skilled artisans using pure Himalayan wool, fine natural silk, and plant-based dyes, following traditional techniques that have distinguished the maison for over six decades.
"We are honoured to take part in Downtown Design Dubai for the tenth consecutive year — a key event that allows us to connect with professionals, collectors and design enthusiasts from around the world," declare Bendis and Davis Illulian Ronchetti, owners of the rug company. "This year, alongside some of our iconic designs, we are showcasing the new rugs created by Jessica Moritz. With Quantum Dance, we sought to translate her visionary language into a textile form that evokes emotion and invites introspection."
Through the lens of Op Art, Jessica Moritz explores the interplay of geometry, colour and light, creating compositions of striking visual and conceptual depth. Her works invite viewers to surrender to the rhythm of perception, becoming an integral part of the artwork's sensory flow.
"Quantum Dance is an invitation to observe how light and time move within us. Each rug is an emotional map a dance of shapes and colours revealing new perspectives," says Jessica Moritz.
The collection is articulated in two variations, Supernova and Serendipity, each conceived as a journey through perception, a poetic reflection on how time and light shape visual reality.
Circles, primordial symbols of existence, become signs of continuity and transformation — subtle bridges connecting past, present and future. Each form bears witness to moments where time and circumstance have left their mark, translating impact into motion and colour. A conscious meditation guided by geometry and physics yet born from the hands.
Every piece bridge logic and intuition: where the circle suggests closure, art expands the choreography to begin anew.
