The German kitchen furniture industry recorded sales of over €376 million in August 2025, representing a 6.58% decrease compared to the same month in 2024, according to data from the Federal Statistical Office and the Association of the German Kitchen Furniture Industry (VdDK). Both domestic sales, down 6.55%, and foreign sales, down 6.63%, contributed to the decline. Exports accounted for 44.05% of total sales during the month.

Cumulatively, the industry, which comprises 44 companies with more than 50 employees—reported a 1.80% decrease in sales over the first eight months of 2025, with total revenues exceeding €3.68 billion. The figures indicate ongoing challenges for the sector amid changing consumer demand and market pressures.
The VdDK highlighted that the decline affects both domestic and international markets, reflecting broader trends in the European furniture industry. Analysts suggest that the combination of rising material costs, supply chain disruptions, and economic uncertainty may continue to weigh on performance in the coming months.
While the industry remains a significant contributor to Germany's manufacturing sector, the current figures underscore the need for strategic adjustments and innovation to stabilise growth and maintain export competitiveness.
