After showcasing R100 in Milan and Copenhagen, Hydro is bringing the acclaimed exhibition home to the Netherlands for Dutch Design Week 2025.

The R100 project began in November 2024, when Hydro collected 52 tonnes of locally sourced aluminium scrap from demolished greenhouses and decommissioned light poles across the country. This reclaimed aluminium was then recycled and transformed into five new design pieces by internationally renowned designers Sabine Marcelis, Keiji Takeuchi, Cecilie Manz, Daniel Rybakken, and Stefan Diez.
Each object in R100 was produced within a 100-kilometre radius in the Benelux region, demonstrating Hydro's commitment to urban mining and local production. The initiative explores how design and manufacturing can coexist with sustainability, drastically reducing emissions by using 100% post-consumer aluminium and focusing on minimising transportation impact.
The exhibition will be hosted at Kazerne – Home of Design (Paradijslaan 2–8, Eindhoven) from 18 to 26 October, open daily from 11:00 to 18:00.
A special talk featuring Sabine Marcelis, Stefan Diez, and Hydro will take place on Sunday, 19 October at 10:30.
