Carlos Henrik Larsen, a furniture industry veteran with 30 years of experience in Asia, has purchased the bankrupt property of Bolighuset Werenberg in Brenderup, Denmark. The 9,000 m² property was sold for DKK 13.75 million, with the takeover effective October 1, 2025.

Larsen, who has run a furniture factory in Vietnam for the past 12 years with 200 employees and an annual turnover of $15 million, is now establishing a new Danish base. He plans to open a showroom, warehouse, and administration office in Brenderup by April 2026.
The new Danish company, Wooden Stories ApS, will focus on wholesale high-end furniture made from wood and leather for retailers across Scandinavia and Northern Europe. Larsen emphasises a careful, phased start for the business, hiring the first team for operations in Denmark while personally overseeing the start-up phase.
The acquisition follows Werenberg's bankruptcy, which was caused by the economic crisis and failed digital transformation, leaving the family-owned business with more than DKK 18 million in financial losses.
