Jakobsen Home makes debut with Jakobsen Copenhagen

'After 6 years of absence, we are finally back at the Brussels Furniture Fair'

After six years away, Jakobsen Home is back at the Brussels Furniture Fair, and Niels-Kristian Nørgaard, Chief Commercial Officer, is brimming with excitement. 'We see it as a comeback, better than ever,' he says. 'Being back in Brussels is a way to get back to the basics.' The return is more than a simple presence on the show floor, it marks a deliberate reassertion of Danish design values. This year also sees the debut of Jakobsen Copenhagen, a new brand that channels the essence of the Copenhagen, celebrating the creative spirit and energy of the city.'Jakobsen Copenhagen is both a tribute to and a reflection of our city,' Niels explains. 'It's about connection, between design and emotion, between craftsmanship and contemporary life. We call it Design by Tradition. Copenhagen by Heart.'

Comfort with a spark of Scandinavian soul
The spotlight of the booth is the new upholstered collection, designed to emphasise comfort without compromising style. 'The highlight of the booth is related to comfort,' Niels says. 'That is the feeling we want to bring over to visitors.' The collection features modular solutions that allow buyers and designers to combine different shapes, fabrics, and configurations to suit their own spaces and lifestyles. 'The Jakobsen Copenhagen assortment has already been shown to some of our biggest clients,' Niels reveals. 'It has already received a very enthusiastic response, but others will have to wait for the fair to see why the collection is generating so much excitement.' Each piece is infused with the simplicity and authenticity characteristic of Copenhagen design, from organic lines to subtle detailing. 'We are rooted in the mid-century Danish design tradition with its gentle organic lines,' Niels continues, 'but we aim to create furniture that feels alive and relevant for today's interiors.' The collection embodies versatility, ensuring that both private homes and commercial projects can find something that resonates with their needs.

Looking beyond border
While the Dutch market remains strategically important, Jakobsen Home and Copenhagen are setting their sights on broader European expansion, including the UK. 'The Brussels fair is a perfect stage for this,' Niels notes. 'It allows us to connect with international buyers and designers and showcase the full scope of our Scandinavian approach to contemporary living.' By combining heritage craftsmanship, contemporary style, and flexible solutions, the brands are presenting a narrative that is both deeply Danish and globally appealing. This dual focus reflects the company's ambition to offer a design experience that resonates across markets while staying true to its roots.

Inviting visitors to embrace hygge
Ultimately, Jakobsen wants every visitor to leave the booth with a sense of warmth and contentment. 'When people leave our booth, we want them to feel Hygge,' Niels concludes, capturing the essence of Danish cosy living. Hygge is more than just comfort; it is a feeling of well-being, intimacy, and relaxed enjoyment. An atmosphere where people feel at ease, surrounded by beauty, simplicity, and thoughtful details. 'It's about creating spaces that are as inviting as they are beautiful,' Niels adds. From the comfort-focused collection to the thoughtful integration of Copenhagen's creative energy, Jakobsen Home and Jakobsen Copenhagen are set to make a lasting impression. This comeback is not just a return to Brussels; it is an invitation to experience a furniture philosophy where clarity, craftsmanship, and soul come together, giving interior designers, buyers, and visitors a true sense of Danish well-being.
