Merzig-based Euronics XXL Funk has transferred its majority stake to Managing Director Sascha Kolb, effective 1 October 2025. The move follows a succession strategy initiated in 2023 by Euronics Beteiligungsgesellschaft, designed to hand the shares to the future managing director.

Founded in 1921 in Mettlach-Weiten, Saarland, Funk opened its Merzig-Besseringen location in 1935 and expanded with a specialist store in Konz in 2012. The company offers electrical appliances, a kitchen studio, and a dedicated service centre across its locations.
Kolb, who has served as Managing Director since June 2023, will now guide the company as majority shareholder, securing its long-term presence within the Euronics group. Brendan Lenane, CEO of Euronics Deutschland eG, commented that Kolb's experience and commitment would enable sustainable growth and further success for both locations.
The acquisition marks a key milestone in the company's succession planning and reinforces the management's focus on stability and continued development within the group.
