German kitchen furniture manufacturers generated €3.3 billion in sales during the first seven months of 2025, matching 2024 figures, supported by a 5% rebound in July and stabilising order volumes. The sector, which comprises 46 manufacturers employing around 17,700 people, anticipates annual sales of €5.6 billion, driven by domestic household consumption.

Exports were mixed across Europe. Deliveries to the Netherlands (+6.6%), Austria (+2%), Switzerland (+4%), and Spain (+10.9%) grew, while France (-4.3%), Belgium (-0.9%), the UK (-0.1%) and the Czech Republic (-3.7%) declined. Non-European markets faced sharper setbacks, with exports to China falling 26.6% and to the United States 17.4%, partly due to new US tariffs on EU imports. Despite this, 80% of manufacturers plan to maintain their US investments.
Domestic sales reached €1.8 billion, down 1.4%, while exports totalled €1.5 billion, giving the industry an export ratio of 46%, higher than the broader German furniture sector. Imports to Germany remained minor at €98.7 million, primarily from Poland, Italy, Lithuania, and Austria.
Jan Kurth, Managing Director of the German Kitchen Furniture Industry Association (VdDK), noted: "The increase in real consumer incomes and the resulting hope that postponed kitchen purchases will materialise in the near future are reasons for cautious optimism."
