'We want to give a big surprise to our customers,' says David Lhomme, CEO of Poldem Groupe, his tone reflecting the quiet confidence of a company celebrating thirty years of craftsmanship. Based in Łódź, Poland, the group has grown into a respected European name in upholstered furniture. It is known for its precision, comfort and adaptable design. This November, its daughter company Stella Furniture will take the spotlight at the Brussels Furniture Fair, unveiling an almost entirely renewed collection that speaks to the brand's signature balance between technical innovation and timeless aesthetics.

A fresh collection for Brussels
'Ninety per cent of what we'll show in Brussels will be new,' David explains. 'It has been a big challenge, but we developed a lot of new ideas, new ergonomics, new electric functions.' Highlights include sofas with integrated electric slide systems that extend the seat by up to sixty centimetres, providing added depth and comfort. Several new modular models and corner solutions will also make their debut, complemented by a palette of four to five new fabrics and a refreshed range of colours and textures.
'We integrate the mechanism into the design,' David adds. 'It must remain elegant and discreet, not technical.' Each piece is crafted to maintain Stella's characteristic proportions and touch, elements that, as he puts it, 'are part of our DNA.'

Design philosophy and flexibility
Poldem's structure encompasses several brands, each tailored to different audiences. Stella serves the European market, combining reliable production with bespoke precision. 'We work piece by piece,' says David. 'Each order is specific for our customer, a particular fabric, a colour, a dimension. Even one sofa can be made exactly as a client needs.'
That flexibility, he adds, is a defining strength. 'We have models with ten, fifteen, even eighteen modules,' he says. 'It gives our customers real freedom in their projects.'

The Stella stand will blend professionalism with warm hospitality, a hallmark of the brand's presence in Brussels. Alongside the product showcase, visitors can expect the friendly tradition of David's homemade Polish cytrynówka liqueur. 'People remember that,' he laughs. 'It creates a friendly atmosphere.'
For Poldem Groupe, the fair remains more than a sales opportunity. 'We've been in this market for almost thirty years,' says David. 'We know most of our customers. Of course, we're open to new ones, but the fair is about meeting partners we trust.'

Looking ahead
For David, who moved from France to Poland over three decades ago, Poldem Groupe represents a story of European collaboration and persistence. As Stella prepares to unveil its new collection, its message is clear: craftsmanship evolves, but identity endures. 'We always keep our values,' David concludes. 'Comfort, proportion and design, that's what makes Stella recognisable.'
