German design house Bretz is marking its 130th anniversary with the launch of a new collection, set to debut at IDD Cologne later this month.

At the heart of the unveiling is Tharuun, a bold new upholstered furniture programme distinguished by its striking silhouette and sculptural presence. Complementing Tharuun, the Maona table series introduces refined proportions and timeless elegance, while a new high-pile rug brings a tactile, atmospheric depth to interior settings.
The collection also features artisanal aluminium coffee tables, conceived as experimental design objects, and the Cassia Lounge Chair, which has been reimagined with an innovative fitting to deliver both elevated comfort and functionality.
In addition to these contemporary designs, Bretz pays homage to its heritage by reintroducing two of its most celebrated fabrics – Zebra Velour and Wildcat Velour. Newly reinterpreted, these iconic textiles bridge past and present, reaffirming Bretz's legacy of craftsmanship while evolving with a contemporary expression.
"Between tradition and the future, between craftsmanship and sensuous, fantastical design – this collection shows how 130 years of design passion can take new shape," says the Bretz design team.
