UK online furniture retailer Furniturebox has secured a £1 million trade loan from Barclays to support its continued growth and international expansion. Founded in 2015 by Dan Beckles and Monty George, the company has grown to over 80 employees and achieved more than £25 million in annual revenue in 2024.

The loan will fund product innovation, supply chain diversification to reduce tariff risks, and further job creation at Furniturebox's new 88,000 sqft warehouse in Chippenham. The company also expanded into the US market in late 2023.
Co-founder Dan Beckles emphasised that the funding will enable Furniturebox to invest in "bold new designs," strengthen its supply chain, and maintain its promise of affordable, on-trend furniture with next-day delivery. Barclays relationship director Martin Crook highlighted the role of innovative UK-founded companies like Furniturebox in driving economic growth and employment.
The loan underscores Furniturebox's ambition to remain resilient in a competitive market while broadening its reach and enhancing its product offerings for both domestic and international customers.
