The Jury describes the design as:
"There is a strong ambition for change behind this design. Every detail has been carefully refined, and every component, material, and design choice has been considered to create a piece with the smallest possible environmental footprint.
The furniture is delivered flat-packed - whether an armchair or a sofa - and can easily be disassembled for repair or reuse. It serves as a clear example of how design can evolve through continuous improvements and thoughtful adjustments to be crafted with greater responsibility".
BUG - low carbon footprint - long durability
With Bug, Eilersen is introducing a new piece of furniture designed with one clear goal: to impact the climate as little as possible. Every component, material and detail has been carefully selected and customised to minimise the carbon footprint, without sacrificing comfort, quality, or beauty.
Bug is designed as a knockdown piece of furniture and comes flat-packed, making it easy to assemble, transport and maintain, while reducing the impact across the entire value chain.
The materials have been selected for their durability and minimal resource use. The furniture can be disassembled into separate components for easy recycling or repair. And each part is replaceable, further extending the product's lifespan.
