Belgian-Peruvian painter Shirley Villavicencio Pizango, celebrated for her vibrant portraiture and represented by gallerist Sofie Van de Velde, has collaborated with Serax to launch her first ceramic collection. The hand-painted pieces translate the lively pottery depicted in her artwork into functional, sculptural objects.

The collection draws inspiration from Villavicencio Pizango's childhood visits to Santiago de Borja, a village on an Amazon tributary in Peru, reflecting the region's rich colors, warmth, and spirit. It aims to make her distinctive artistic language accessible to a wider audience through ceramics.
"I chose that name because it feels like people are entering my world through this collection. Santiago de Borja is where I feel at home, where my family still lives, and where I reconnect with nature," said Villavicencio Pizango.
This collaboration underscores Serax's commitment to blending contemporary art with functional design, offering collectors and enthusiasts a tangible connection to Villavicencio Pizango's vivid artistic vision.
