The company, Humber Services Ltd, had ceased trading several months prior and employed no staff at the time of administration. Humber Services, which primarily handled haulage and storage, later supplied complete bed components for one client. A dispute over customer complaints led many customers to withhold payment, prompting the company to stop providing services for the client.

The client subsequently issued a counterclaim estimated at £1 million. In addition, Humber Services owed approximately £335,000 to HMRC. A creditor presented a winding-up petition on 16 July 2025, prompting directors to seek insolvency advice.

Outstanding liabilities include £202,000 to HMRC as a preferential creditor, and £1.2 million in unsecured claims, including £702,000 owed to Simba Sleep. A shortfall of £1.7 million for creditors is expected.

Andrew Watling, managing director of Quantuma, said: "It is extremely regrettable that Humber Services was forced to cease trading, due to a series of challenging circumstances."
