The La Foresteria Wine Resort by the Planeta family has enhanced its outdoor areas with high-performance fabrics from Giovanardi, supporting both comfort and sustainability. The resort, recently awarded the Ecoluxury Award for excellence in Italian hospitality, combines traditional Sicilian architecture with modern luxury and eco-conscious design.

La Foresteria is structured as a small village of rustic houses, featuring terraces, courtyards, and gardens that create bright, open spaces. The resort comprises 14 guest rooms, a restaurant, multiple common areas, a pool with solarium, and a bar. Its design celebrates the surrounding Mediterranean landscape and biodiversity, particularly along the Menfi coast.
For the outdoor areas, fabrics were selected by Francesca Planeta, including Plain for poolside loungers and Panama and Raytent Living for terrace sofa cushions. These textiles are water-repellent, stain-resistant, mould-resistant, and UV-stable, offering exceptional colourfastness.
Plain, from Giovanardi's Irisun collection, combines durability with refined design and soft touch, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Living Panama, also from Irisun, is a soft acrylic fabric with high UV colour retention, water- and oil-repellent finishing, anti-mould and anti-stain treatment, and a five-year guarantee. Raytent Living, crafted with recycled Raytent yarn certified ReMade in Italy, merges style with environmental responsibility, allowing interiors and exteriors to share a contemporary, sophisticated aesthetic.
The project, led by architect Gaetano Gulino of Gruppo Vid' A, places the 14 suites around a central hub of communal spaces including an open-air dining area, veranda lounge, and professional kitchen. The compact design minimises impact on the landscape while highlighting the natural beauty of southwestern Sicily, near Selinunte's temples and Alberto Burri's Cretto in Gibellina.
Through these high-performance fabrics, Giovanardi contributes to a design vision that balances comfort, elegance, and sustainability, complementing the resort's ethos of environmentally conscious luxury.
