&Tradition introduces Rombe by Industrial Facility

Danish design brand &Tradition has unveiled Rombe, a modular shelving system by Industrial Facility that blends functionality with sculptural elegance.

"Rombe is about Sculptural Utility, the ability for a storage system to behave as a system, while contributing to an aesthetic," said Sam Hecht, co-designer at Industrial Facility.

Designed to adapt to individual needs, Rombe accommodates books, cherished objects, or workspace essentials. The system is praised for its flexibility and strength, marrying efficiency with visual intelligence. Its creators emphasise a design philosophy attuned to the evolving role of shelving in modern interiors.

The name Rombe derives from the subtle rhombus formed by its vertical brackets. According to Industrial Facility, this geometric form emerged organically due to its inherent robustness and load-bearing capabilities rather than as a premeditated design choice.

Rombe simplifies user choice with 11 core configurations, available as single, double, or triple bays. Users can customise shelving, desk, or cabinet assemblies and expand the system by adding additional bays over time. A key design principle is minimal wall impact: Rombe attaches at just four points, preserving the integrity of interiors while allowing space behind the system for discreet cable management.

Materials are chosen for both performance and aesthetics. Extruded aluminium upright brackets provide concealed structural support, while shelves and desks are offered in lacquered oak or walnut veneer. Cabinets feature reeded glass sliding doors, combining subtle concealment with elegant design.

The system comes in two finishes, Alabaster and Anthracite, coordinating shelves with either lacquered oak or walnut veneer. This ensures a coherent and considered visual presence across all components.

Rombe marks another step in &Tradition's ongoing commitment to marrying traditional craftsmanship with contemporary innovation, offering European interiors a versatile and intelligent solution for modern living and working spaces.
