Ambientec has been named a winner of the Cool Japan Award 2025 with its new portable lamp, hymn pro, designed by Hiroto Yoshizoe. The recognition was announced during the award ceremony on 3 September at the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 exhibition area, attended by institutional representatives, international judges, and members of the design and lifestyle media.

The Cool Japan Award, presented annually, celebrates Japanese products and projects that captivate audiences worldwide through "innovation, aesthetic excellence, and cultural value." The award's Outbound category acknowledges creations that resonate strongly on a global scale.
Ambientec's hymn pro impressed the jury with its poetic approach to light, blending design, technology, and ancestral memory. According to the brand, the lamp transforms illumination into "an intimate and universal gesture" and embodies "a quiet yet powerful coolness that transcends fleeting trends."
Described by the company as "light that lingers," hymn pro evolves from the iconic hymn lamp launched in 2019. Its design features a pendulum optical lens that produces a soft, warm, and ever-changing glow, evocative of a flickering flame. The lamp's compact body, glass diffuser, and high-intensity light source establish what Ambientec calls "a unique dialogue with both the space and the emotions of those who experience it."
By winning this award, Ambientec reinforces its position as a leading player in Japanese design. The company stated that it continues to distinguish itself "thanks to its ability to seamlessly blend innovation, craftsmanship, and design into objects that go beyond function, becoming true experiences of light."
Founder and President Yoshinori Kuno accepted the award on behalf of the company, highlighting Ambientec's growing international profile.
