Waterline, a KBB distributor and corporate sponsor of KBSA, has confirmed it is in "late-stage, exclusive discussions" with a third-party investor eager to support the business financially. The company emphasised it will continue to accept and supply orders for Crown Imperial products.

The announcement follows confusion last week when some retailers were incorrectly informed that Crown Imperial had closed its factory and staff were entering redundancy talks. Crown Imperial managing director Barry Head later clarified that the company remained fully operational.
In their joint statement, Waterline and Crown Imperial reassured customers and retail partners that business continues as usual, with service levels maintained for over 40 years.
CEO Michael Marriott highlighted that Waterline has been exploring external investment to secure the company's future amid cashflow pressures. Over the past year, initiatives have included expansion into the contracts and electrical retailer markets, as well as developing OEM product ranges. Experts in each field have been brought in to support these strategies, which aim to create a stronger, more resilient business.
The companies expressed gratitude to their customers and partners for their support during the period of uncertainty.
