Radon turns crisis into design innovations

"2025 was the hardest year in the last 30 years''

"2025 was the hardest year I've seen in 30 years," says Jürgen Seeliger, COO of Radon Möbelvertriebsgesellschaft. His candid words reflect the turbulence facing the furniture industry, but they also underline the determination driving Radon forward. Based in Werder an der Havel, the company is preparing to showcase its latest ideas as an exhibitor at the M.O.W. Fair in Bad Salzuflen from September 21 to 25. "For us, M.O.W. is the most important stage in Germany. This is where every major retailer comes to see what's next."

Stability
Guided by CEO Sanjay Chouby and Seeliger, Radon is pursuing stability in a highly competitive environment. "We are not just reacting to changes, we are building a structure that can withstand them," Seeliger emphasises.

The company oversees the distribution of two brands: Collection C, integrated in October 2023, and Gwinner, acquired in early 2024. Both are produced in Radon's Polish facilities, "Maintaining European production gives us both quality assurance and delivery reliability, which are decisive advantages in today's market," Seeliger explains.

Collection-C and Gwinner
Collection-C is defined by adaptable, multifunctional furniture. Its flagship, the LEONARDO living CUBE, has been established for over a decade yet remains highly relevant. Featuring durable glass elements, customisable LED lighting, and finishes in white, black, and Palazzo, it combines practicality with design flexibility. "The material quality is particularly important for families, as the glass is resistant to damage," Seeliger notes.

The Gwinner portfolio complements this with models such as ATENA, BELLANO, FELINO, MEDIA CONCEPT, and MISANO. Combining lacquer, wood veneers, and refined detailing, these ranges emphasise both tradition and modernity. "Gwinner represents continuity and trust in the German market, but it is equally important that we refresh the collections to reflect current interior trends," Seeliger says.

M.O.W. Fair
At M.O.W., Radon will present two new programs with 3D-structured front panels, adding depth and texture through bold linear forms and lacquer-wood combinations. "Our production facility in Poland is equipped with technology that allows us to execute 3D designs with precision," Seeliger highlights. "This capacity enables us to differentiate ourselves clearly in the market."

The presentation will focus not only on product design but also on Radon's strengths: flexibility, short lead times, and consistent European quality. Visitors can expect insight into both the latest models and the company's broader investment in innovation and international expansion. "For us, M.O.W. is not only about showing products, it is about showing reliability and building trust with our partners," Seeliger stresses.

Outlook
The German market remains challenging, with rising costs, high taxation, and shifting consumer priorities. "Many households are prioritising travel and electronics over furniture, and retailer consolidation has increased price pressure for suppliers," Seeliger explains.

Radon is countering these pressures through international growth, expanding into India and the United States. "In India especially, demand for European-made products is growing strongly. We see substantial potential to position ourselves as a reliable partner in these markets," he adds.

By combining established brands with innovative designs and reinforcing trust with retail partners, Radon is preparing for long-term resilience. "Our goal is to demonstrate that Radon is a dependable supplier, both in Germany and internationally," Seeliger concludes.
