Copenhagen-based kitchen manufacturer closes Aarhus showroom after financial struggle

A Copenhagen-based kitchen manufacturer, has closed its 253-square-metre showroom in Aarhus at Banegårdspladsen. The closure follows major financial challenges, with the company posting a DKK 50 million loss in 2024 and total losses of DKK 251 million over the past five years.

The Aarhus showroom of Reform, which opened in 2018 and was expanded in 2022, was Reform's only location west of the Great Belt. Despite the closure, the company remains fully accessible to customers in Jutland through online meetings with its design team, a model already successful in other European cities.

Reform's CEO Anders Dalskov explained that the decision reflects a "changed business model," with the company now focusing solely on complete kitchen and wardrobe solutions rather than individual components, which requires a different approach to showroom locations.

Founded in 2014 by Jeppe Christensen and Michael Andersen, Reform has established an international presence, maintaining showrooms in Copenhagen, Germany, and the USA. The Aarhus premises have been returned to DSB Ejendomme for new tenants. In 2022, the company received €25 million from French fund Experience Capital to support its growth strategy.

Reform continues to pursue profitability and expects to capitalise on its transformation from top-line growth to sustainable earnings.
