From 26 to 29 October 2025, Cologne will play host to idd cologne 2025, the first edition of a new premium interior design event. With its innovative urban-only focus, the format is bringing around 100 design brand presentations, a themed information programme and networking opportunities right to where people live and work – the very heart of Cologne. Aimed at both industry experts and private individuals with a keen interest in design, idd cologne will transform the city into a stage for contemporary home and interior design ideas for four days.
'The new interior design days cologne concept focuses on proximity, experience and dialogue. Around 100 prestigious brands from the residential, hospitality and business interiors segments will showcase their products at various locations across the city. By adopting this format, idd cologne is creating an inspiring platform for brands and trade visitors, and consolidating Cologne's position as a landmark in the European design landscape,' explains Maik Fischer, Director of idd cologne. The event-like trade fair also combines regionality with international design language and actively seeks to incorporate the markets in Germany and the Benelux countries.

Cologne: the urban catwalk for interior design
With its modern event concept, idd cologne has consciously opted for an integrated approach. Exhibition venues, such as Design Post Köln, a long-established gathering place for the international design scene; Stoff-Pavillon Moeller, a listed architectural highlight of post-war modernism designed by Wilhelm Riphahn; and machwerkhaus köln, a centre for design and urban production, will provide the backdrops for presentations by leading exhibiting brands including Bielefelder Werkstätten + IP, Bretz, COR, Evavaara Design, Hem, kaas + heger, Kettnaker, KFF, Lammhults, mobitec, Möller Design, raumkörper, Ruhe & Raum and THONET.
There will also be a special space dedicated to the theme of light in the temporary "Light Hall" at machwerkhaus köln. This is where renowned manufacturers and designers, such as Baltensweiler, Buschfeld, Casambi and Oligo, will showcase their latest products, prototypes and selected collections. The exhibition will be complemented by workshop insights and one-off pieces by designers, as well as lectures and training sessions on the theme of smart building.
In addition, a network of more than 20 local showrooms and store partners will be involved in the event. In the creative premises of Bretz Store, Heerdt, JAN KATH, smow with bulthaup and Stoll Wohnbedarf + Objekt, for example, a wide range of brands will open their doors as part of idd cologne. As a result, the exhibition platform will extend across the entire city, transforming Cologne into a customisable design trail that offers design professionals and enthusiasts the chance to experience multiple premium design brands up close.
Programme highlights
Besides exclusive interior design solutions, idd cologne 2025 will also present an inspiring event programme packed with opportunities for networking and conversation. Highlights will include lectures and panel discussions, in which renowned industry professionals will talk about the latest topics and trends. For example, Architonic will lead sessions at selected exhibitor locations.
The programme will also feature happy hour events with musical accompaniment, offering a pleasant way to end the day with the opportunity for networking in a relaxed atmosphere. Through the resulting unique combination of urban culture and exclusive design, idd cologne will strengthen Cologne's reputation as a vibrant design hub.
Open to all: experience design live and in person
idd cologne will be held at around 25 locations in Cologne from 26 to 29 October.
