Following the recent modernisation of the Knitting Chair by Ib Kofod-Larsen, Audo now turns its attention to Lassen's classic. The lounge chair was initially conceived in plush sheepskin upholstery, which remains available in Audo's collection. The Everyday Icons edition introduces white Baena bouclé, a refined textile by Italian maker Limonta, offering a contemporary aesthetic while respecting the chair's heritage.
'The Tired Man is more than a chair - it's an enduring symbol of Danish craftsmanship and comfort. By introducing it into our Everyday Icons collection, we honour Flemming Lassen's legacy while offering a fresh perspective that speaks to contemporary living,' said Design & Brand Director Joachim Kornbek Engell-Hansen.
The Everyday Icons concept celebrates designs of enduring cultural significance. As Engell-Hansen explains, 'Everyday Icons is about celebrating designs that transcend time, and The Tired Man is a perfect example. With this new edition, we bring a cherished classic into the present, ensuring its beauty and comfort remain accessible for generations to come.'
Originally a collector's item, this refreshed edition is thoughtfully priced to broaden accessibility: DKK 33,995 / SEK 52,095 / NOK 53,295 / EUR 4,565 / GBP 4,015, excluding the ottoman.
Audo Copenhagen, developed from the unification of Menu and By Lassen, reflects a century of Danish design tradition while embracing a modern global outlook. The brand continues to expand its portfolio through the Everyday Icons concept, encompassing furniture, lighting, and objects that create both aesthetic and emotional resonance.
The Tired Man Lounge Chair exemplifies Audo's commitment to honouring design heritage while addressing contemporary needs, combining comfort, simplicity, and enduring style. Professionals and enthusiasts of design are invited to explore the collection at Audo House in Copenhagen and engage with the brand's evolving vision for classic and modern interiors.
