Shifnal-based kitchen, bathroom and bedroom retailer Harrison James has reported a 67% surge in turnover over the past year, defying the wider market downturn. The independent business, owned by 25-year-old entrepreneur Olivia Weaver, has also increased profits and strengthened its net assets, driven by the opening of a new showroom in Shifnal, Shropshire.

The showroom, launched during the town's Carnival Day in 2025, showcases premium displays and product brands, alongside a full installation service. Harrison James is also the only independent retailer in Shropshire accredited by the BiKBBI scheme.
Weaver credited the company's success to determination and personalised service. "Our sector has seen contraction not growth recently, but we have managed to ride the storm," she said, highlighting the team's resilience and commitment. "Our reviews speak for themselves as do these figures."
The strong performance comes despite challenging conditions in the home improvement sector, where many businesses have struggled to maintain sales. Industry observers point to Harrison James's focus on customer service and quality as key factors behind its rapid growth, positioning the company as one of the region's most dynamic independent retailers.
