A Sonnefeld-based (Germany) furniture manufacturer has filed for insolvency under self-administration at the district court in Coburg on 21 August 2025. Business operations will continue without restrictions, with Managing Director Marco Mäusbacher retaining operational responsibility.

The court appointed Andrea Wollner of HWR law firm as provisional administrator, with commercial law firm Grub Brugger overseeing the proceedings. Attorneys Nora Sickeler and Dr Lukas Herbert will act as general representatives for the management. A provisional creditors' committee will monitor the process to protect stakeholders' interests.
The company, Mäusbacher, attributed the insolvency filing to "persistently weak order intake" and a sharp drop in summer orders that exceeded normal seasonal fluctuations. Production issues, including the outage of a major drilling centre and delays in a new plant, caused process bottlenecks and higher costs through overtime and temporary workers.
Mäusbacher assured that production, product availability, and customer deliveries will remain fully secure. All employees will retain their positions, with wages and salaries covered for the coming months through insolvency benefits. The self-administration process is intended to create "the necessary peace and structure to position the company for the future."
