An independent furniture business based in Ludlow, Shropshire, has announced the closure of its Corve Street store as it transitions to an online-only model. The shop, which specialised in classic modern British, Scandinavian and European 20th century furniture, closed on 23 August 2025.

In a statement, the company, Ludlow Vintage, expressed "great sadness" over the decision, reflecting on the connections built with the local community during its three and a half years of trading. 'We've met so many lovely people over the last three and a half years and made lots of new friends. It's now time to move on to our next adventure,' the statement read.
Despite the physical store closure, Ludlow Vintage reassured customers that it would continue to offer its curated selection of vintage pieces through its website "for the foreseeable future". The team also thanked its loyal supporters, saying their encouragement "means the world to us".
The move reflects a growing trend of niche retailers streamlining operations and focusing on digital platforms to reach wider audiences while reducing the costs associated with maintaining physical premises.
