The insolvency will be handled under self-administration, allowing the company, Mäusbacher Möbelfabrik GmbH, to continue operations while restructuring. According to the announcement, employee salaries are guaranteed through insolvency benefits, and production and deliveries remain "fully secured." Managing Director Marco Mäusbacher stated that 'with self-administration, we are now creating the necessary calm and structure to position our company for the future.'
The filing follows a significant drop in orders during the summer, which exceeded typical seasonal fluctuations. Additional challenges, including the failure of a drilling centre and delivery bottlenecks for a new facility, exacerbated the situation.
Mäusbacher specialises in home furniture sold both to retailers and directly to consumers. Attorney Andrea Wollner has been appointed to oversee the insolvency proceedings. The company emphasises that business operations will continue as normal while it implements measures to stabilise and restructure for long-term viability.
