A North Jutland-based furniture manufacturer is showing signs of recovery after a challenging year marked by heavy staff reductions and declining profits. The company, which faced continued pressure from a slowing market, reported a post-tax loss of DKK 435,895 in 2024, slightly worse than the previous year. Gross profit also dropped from DKK 6.4 million in 2023 to DKK 4.9 million.

To stabilise operations, Bent Hansen Møbler reduced its workforce to six employees and held back on investments. Owner and creative director Henrik Hvid Hansen said the measures, though difficult, are beginning to pay off. 'From a business perspective, we can see that the difficult and tough decisions we have made make sense,' he noted, adding that the company is now "making money again."
Despite the turnaround, the company is not rushing into new markets. Instead, it plans to focus on strengthening its presence in core regions such as Scandinavia, Benelux and Germany.
With cautious optimism, Bent Hansen aims to refine its expertise and build on its established markets while waiting for more stable industry conditions before considering broader expansion.
