Dutch electronics retailer Coolblue has appointed Marco Stiemert as Director Purchasing Germany, effective June 2025. In his new role, Stiemert is responsible for developing purchasing processes, expanding supplier relationships, and securing new partnerships across Germany.

Stiemert brings over 25 years of international retail experience from MediaMarktSaturn, where he held various senior roles, including Head of Category Group, overseeing key product lines, and leading internal quality management, IT, and telecommunications initiatives. Coolblue stated that his extensive network and market knowledge position him to effectively drive the company's growth strategy in Germany.
Urs Möller, Country Manager for Coolblue Germany, commented that 'with Marco Stiemert, we are gaining a leading figure with a deep understanding of the market and an excellent network in the German retail landscape.' He added that Stiemert's expertise will help align Coolblue's product range with customer needs and strengthen collaboration with manufacturers, particularly as the company invests in new locations, infrastructure, and services.
Stiemert's appointment comes amid Coolblue's ongoing expansion in Germany, which includes new stores in Hamburg and Hanover, and logistics centres in Hamburg and Baden-Württemberg, reinforcing the retailer's commitment to broadening its physical presence and delivery capabilities across the country.
