His career includes senior roles at Christie Tyler, overseeing brands such as Duresta, G Plan, Corinth, and Parker Knoll, and 16 years at M&S, where he held multiple senior buying positions across menswear and home. While head of M&S's furniture and soft furnishings division, Oliver grew sales to over £100m within five years, established its first in-house marketing department, and helped launch the Per Una brand.

Commenting on his appointment, Oliver said he was 'honoured to be joining the Furniture Village Board' and looked forward to contributing his experience, highlighting the company's 'strong and forward-thinking' culture.

Furniture Village chairman Peter Harrison added that Oliver's 'experience, insight, and leadership will be invaluable as we continue to grow', praising his unique combination of retail and manufacturing expertise.

The appointment signals Furniture Village's commitment to strengthening its leadership team with proven industry figures as it pursues continued growth in the competitive UK furniture market.
