The largest relative growth in imports came from Poland, Slovakia, and France, reflecting Italy's diversifying sourcing strategy within Europe.
The rise in softwood lumber imports underscores the country's continued demand for construction and manufacturing materials, amid shifts in European timber trade flows. Italy's increasing reliance on multiple suppliers may help stabilise supply chains and mitigate potential disruptions from market fluctuations.
This trend highlights Italy's proactive approach to securing essential timber resources while tapping into emerging opportunities across neighbouring European markets.
