JYSK boosts Irish revenues amid expansion drive

Danish home furniture and sleeping retailer JYSK recorded a revenue increase in Ireland from €59.5 million to €69.66 million last year, reflecting continued growth in the market. The rise follows the group's expansion plans, including a new head office at Park West Business Park and the opening of two additional stores.

The Park West office, representing a €250,000 investment, will accommodate up to 50 employees across all departments. This facility operates separately from JYSK's 8,000 sq ft dark store, launched in November to improve delivery efficiency.

Despite higher revenues, pre-tax profits at the Irish arm fell by 17 per cent to €3.02 million, down from €3.68 million in 2023. Directors attributed the 17 per cent increase in turnover to "continued store expansion," stronger online sales, and operational improvements in existing outlets.

Employment also grew, with staff numbers rising from 259 to 287. This included 233 in administration and support roles and 54 in management. Correspondingly, staff costs rose from €7.57 million to €9.86 million.

The results highlight JYSK's commitment to strengthening its presence in Ireland, supported by store rollouts, investment in infrastructure, and enhanced delivery capabilities.
