A Danish furniture company has entered a new phase as founder Casper Jacobsen has sold his share to long-time co-owner Mads Hjortshøj Dalsgaard. Jacobsen, who established the Hedensted-based (Denmark) firm in 2013, is stepping back to focus on family life.

Dalsgaard, who has been part-owner of Woodstyle since 2020, is now sole owner and plans to expand Woodstyle's range beyond its core plank tables. He announced ambitions to introduce outdoor and lounge furniture, room dividers, acoustic walls and flower boxes, with the ultimate goal of designing a chair in recycled wood. 'It is a difficult exercise, I hope to succeed at some point,' he told Vejle Amts Folkeblad.
The company, which transitioned in 2019 from fresh wood to recycled materials sourced from sites such as manor houses and the historic Fregatten Jylland, has undergone several transformations. Jacobsen's arthritis forced the shift away from in-house carpentry to a retail-focused business model.
Financial results have been mixed, with a post-tax deficit of DKK 309,230 in 2024, following a surplus of DKK 57,811 in 2023. Despite this volatility, the new ownership signals continued focus on sustainability and growth in Denmark's recycled furniture market.
