The company, Humber Services, which focused on providing logistics support to furniture retailers, collapsed following a dispute with a major customer. The disagreement led to a breakdown in relations, non-payment for completed work and significant counterclaims for alleged non-performance, leaving the business unable to continue operating.
Andrew Watling and Simon Campbell of Quantuma were appointed as joint administrators on 1 August 2025. At the time of appointment, the firm had already ceased trading for several months and no longer employed any staff.
Quantuma confirmed that Humber Services had been struggling with "cashflow difficulties" directly linked to the dispute. Watling described the collapse as "extremely regrettable" and attributed it to "a series of challenging circumstances".
The administration marks another blow to the furniture supply chain, where financial pressures and contractual disputes have increasingly forced smaller operators out of the market.
