IKEA brings new store to heart of Brighton

Brighton has welcomed a new addition to its city centre retail landscape with the opening of a 6695sqm IKEA store in Churchill Square Shopping Centre. The launch is part of the retailer's strategy to expand into smaller, centrally located formats, making its range more accessible to urban customers.

The two-storey store features five room sets co-created with local residents, 2600 home accessories and small furniture items for immediate purchase, and ordering facilities for the full range. Services include kitchen and bedroom planning, a Re-Shop and Re-use area, and a 100-seat Swedish Deli.

Karina Gilpin, market manager, said the store aims to make IKEA more accessible to city residents, while Mark Buchanan-Smith of Churchill Square described it as a "significant milestone for the city".

The opening celebration featured live entertainment, giveaways, and special offers, including gift cards for the first 100 IKEA Family members and August shoppers receiving September vouchers. This marks IKEA's third UK city-centre store, following Oxford Street in London. The Brighton branch will open 10am–8pm Monday to Saturday, and 11am–5pm on Sundays.
