Lighting brand introduces modular system for complex spaces

A new modular wall and ceiling lighting solution, the "Lodes Map", has been launched, offering enhanced architectural flexibility for challenging interiors. Designed in collaboration with Berlin-based studio GECKELER MICHELS, the system uses a tensioned fabric tape to carry power between light points, allowing "clean, customisable installations" without complex rewiring.

The Map system is particularly suited to commercial environments such as hotels, offices, galleries, stairwells, and transitional spaces, where decentralised wiring or structural constraints can limit design options. It enables designers to create layered, graphic lighting arrangements while avoiding invasive ceiling works.

Featuring Triac or DALI dimmable control, high-CRI LEDs, and a choice of optics for ambient or directional light, Map is available in Matte Black, Champagne, or Natural Brown finishes. A range of accessories supports varied layouts, including ceiling-to-wall transitions and corner configurations.

According to the David Village Lighting on LinkedIn, Map gives designers the freedom to experiment with "rhythm, repetition, and composition", turning light into a central visual element. This flexibility makes it possible to create a distinct design identity while addressing technical challenges in complex spaces.
