Every week, an average of 20.2 million customers visit an Action shop for their daily necessities. In Germany, the second largest market after France, the 600th shop was recently opened in Bremen. Poland celebrated the opening of its 400th shop in Poznań. Action continues to aim for an average of one new shop per day and expects to open around 370 new shops this year.

Expansion is also visible in new markets: in Switzerland, Action opened its first shop in April and has since expanded this with four additional branches. The first shop in Romania, in Pitești, is planned for the end of September.

On 5 June, Action celebrated the opening of its 3,000th shop in Italy. This was celebrated in all European shops with special offers for customers and an extra bonus and gift for employees. During a supplier meeting, Action also discussed its market expansion and sustainability programme.

About that sustainability programme: the 16th distribution centre, this time in Spain, recently opened its doors. Built to the highest sustainability standards, this centre achieved BREEAM 'Outstanding' certification. In addition, Action supports long-term projects for children, with donations to SOS Children's Villages, the Johan Cruyff Foundation and the Princess Máxima Centre, which focuses on treating children with cancer.
