Police have arrested two men, Mohd Waseem and Sameer Khan, in connection with the brutal murder of 28-year-old sofa maker Mohammed Qaboola.

The incident occured in Asifnagar on Sunday, 20 July. The accused, both residents of the area and involved in furniture work, allegedly carried out the fatal attack following a dispute.
According to the police, the suspects and the victim were known to each other and had a history of hostility. On the day of the incident, the accused reportedly consumed alcohol together before setting out on a motorcycle to confront Qaboola. The attack took place around 9:45 pm near Rahath Hotel in New Kishan Nagar.
Sameer Khan allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times while Waseem restrained him. The assault ended when Khan struck Qaboola's head with a granite stone, causing fatal injuries. Qaboola's companions fled the scene during the attack.
Authorities recovered the murder weapon, the motorcycle used in the crime, and one of the accused's mobile phones. Police reports also confirmed that Sameer Khan has a previous criminal record, having been charged in a 2021 attempted murder case. The investigation is ongoing.
