Known for its chrome-plated steel tube framework and metal panel system, USM has been a staple in office interiors since its launch in 1965. The brand gained global recognition in the corporate space and, by the 1990s, began to draw interest from the residential design world.
The new two-storey showroom, designed by studio ForEveryday.Life, showcases USM's versatility through a series of curated room settings. According to the company, the store's layout is "easily adaptable – like the furniture", reinforcing the system's reputation for flexibility and enduring design.
The move reflects what USM describes as the brand's "growing popularity and design status in the home interior sector", positioning the company to capitalise on a rising demand for modular, design-led home furnishings.
The relocation highlights USM's evolution from office staple to luxury lifestyle brand, as it seeks to deepen its presence in the residential market while maintaining its legacy of Swiss design and innovation.
