Compiled in partnership with Statista, TIME's annual ranking analyses over 5,000 global companies against key environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics. Beko's improved position reflects its tangible progress and sustained commitment to impactful, transparent sustainability practices.

'The recognition by TIME and Statista proves that sustainability and scale don't have to be at odds,' said Hakan Bulgurlu, CEO of Beko. 'We're proud to be the sector leader, not just by intent, but through verifiable progress, smart design, and industry-leading transparency. We call this "Sustainability That Scales". What matters is building systems that allow people and the planet to thrive, at every level, and in every market, and that starts with the dedication and endeavour of our teams around the world.'

Beko's position reflects advancements across its sustainability pillars, including:

  • Low-carbon production implemented at global facilities
  • Increased use of recycled materials in product lines
  • Transparent ESG reporting and traceable supply chains
  • Early adoption of green innovation standards, particularly in Europe and emerging markets

The company also reported notable performance in 2024:

  • 90.2MWp of renewable energy installed in manufacturing
  • 27,835 tonnes of recycled plastics integrated into products
  • 1.86 million WEEE units recycled since 2014
  • 61.9% of turnover from energy-efficient products, and 71.5% from low-carbon products

A standout facility in Beko's sustainability portfolio is its Ulmi plant in Romania, powered entirely by green electricity and recognised by the World Economic Forum as a Sustainability Lighthouse.

'This recognition is more than a ranking, it's a validation of our belief that sustainability must scale,' Bulgurlu added. 'At Beko, we're embedding environmental responsibility into every layer of our business, from design and manufacturing to supply chains and the homes we serve. As we continue our journey to net-zero by 2050, this milestone affirms the impact of credible data, long-term thinking, and putting sustainability at the centre of how we grow.'

With operations in over 55 countries and a portfolio of 22 brands, Beko continues to blend innovation with environmental responsibility, driving sustainable change at scale across global markets.
