Founded in 1995, Gela-Form specialises in foil-coated fronts and moulded parts for kitchens, bathrooms, and hallways. It serves both industrial clients through series production and offers bespoke solutions for custom furniture makers.
The insolvency filing follows Gela-Form's acquisition of the previously insolvent LignoSmart Holztechnik GmbH in November 2024, a move that may have contributed to the company's current financial strain.
The company's managing directors, Ralf Schwertner and Achim Eikmeyer, led the submission. The filing highlights ongoing challenges within the German furniture supply chain, particularly among component manufacturers facing rising costs and market pressure.
Gela-Form's financial troubles raise questions about the sustainability of recent acquisitions in a volatile economic climate and could impact furniture manufacturers reliant on its custom solutions.
