After a forced break due to Casa's bankruptcy, Casa Oostburg is returning. Starting Wednesday, July 16, the store will reopen its doors with the familiar collection of home accessories. Cushions, candles, furniture, and tableware: customers can once again find the well-known Casa style.
Franchisee Nico van den Ameele looks ahead: 'We have managed to secure a large stock from the bankruptcy. As the only Casa franchise store in the Benelux, we won't be deterred. We continue to build with enthusiasm. For Oostburg!'

Casa International, the Belgian parent company of the interior chain Casa, had been facing serious financial problems since the end of 2024. After unsuccessful attempts at reorganization, the company applied for a moratorium on payment on October 30, 2024. When that recovery plan did not succeed, bankruptcy was filed on March 5, 2025. In the months that followed, the stores in the Netherlands, among others, also closed due to the bankruptcy.
'It is incredibly disappointing. I started the store six years ago and I still stand behind the products,' Nico said in an earlier interview with the PZC. 'I have invested a lot in, among other things, cash registers, lighting, and automation. That inventory is now worth nothing. I can throw everything into the container. I could have continued for another ten years.'
Despite Casa's bankruptcy, Nico is reopening his store in Oostburg. With a large stock from the estate and renewed enthusiasm, he is looking forward. Where he once thought everything was lost, there is now hope again, maybe even for another ten years...
