La Halle au Sommeil revival in Arbent highlights strength of French furniture franchising

French bedding and furniture retailer La Halle au Sommeil has reopened its franchise store in Arbent, near Oyonnax, signalling renewed momentum for the brand's national network. Relaunched by local entrepreneurs Olivier Dumont and Gabriel Darbin, the 750 m² store offers a broad range of sleep and comfort-focused furniture, including mattresses, bed bases, pillows, and both fixed and convertible sofas and armchairs.

The revamped space is designed for an enhanced customer experience, described by the company as "bright, functional and welcoming". Management emphasised the importance of personalised advice and local presence, stating that the reopening "illustrates the renewed confidence of local entrepreneurs in the franchise model supported by the brand".

Founded in 1993, La Halle au Sommeil entered franchising in 2007 and expanded its offering in 2014 to include sofas and armchairs. Today, the company operates nearly 90 stores across France, relying on a network of mostly French manufacturing partners including major brands such as Bultex, Epéda, Merinos, Tempur, and Simmons.

The Arbent reopening reflects the enduring appeal of affordable, high-quality furniture in local markets and reinforces the brand's strategic focus on regional expansion through franchise partnerships.
