Euronics secures future with flagship store succession plan

Euronics Deutschland eG has officially acquired the Euronics XXL store in Öhringen as part of a strategic succession plan. Dieter Fuchs, who joined the management team in January 2023, will now assume sole management of the store.

The Öhringen location boasts a 75-year history, evolving from a downtown shop founded by Helmut Sinn in 1949 into a 2,400 square metre hypermarket. Since adopting the Euronics XXL concept in 2009, it has become one of the group's flagship stores, recently undergoing comprehensive modernisation and reopening in October 2023.

Benedict Kober, spokesperson for Euronics Deutschland's Board of Management, described the store as "an excellently managed store with great appeal" and praised its "dedicated team, modern space, and excellent customer focus." He added that the acquisition ensures the continuation of its successful legacy.

Long-serving leader Dietrich Sinn retired on 30 June but will remain as an advisor to support the transition. This handover is part of Euronics' broader efforts to maintain strong operational continuity and secure future growth in a competitive retail landscape.
