KI celebrates 30 years with opening of new London showroom

Marking three decades of design excellence in the UK, furniture manufacturer KI has opened the doors to its flagship London showroom at 91 Goswell Road, Clerkenwell. This significant move not only underscores the company's enduring commitment to innovation but firmly places KI at the heart of London's vibrant design district.

The showroom showcases KI's full breadth of furniture solutions across the workplace, education, higher education and hospitality sectors, organised in curated zones that allow for intuitive navigation and product flow. The space has been conceived not just as a showroom, but as a multi-purpose environment blending functionality, aesthetics and versatility.

'Our new showroom on Goswell Road in Clerkenwell, marks a significant milestone for us, highlighting our commitment to innovation and design excellence," the company stated. "The move celebrates 30 years of KI in the UK, marking its growth by placing KI at the centre of London's design district.'

A triple-front window display features KI's latest innovations, including Sutton chairs in four colours and the new Logon task chair. Inside, visitors can explore a range of products including the 800 Series, Work2.1 High Capacity and Contour sit-stand desks, complemented by soft seating from KI and partner Bejot.

The ground floor houses KI's in-house product design team and includes a formal boardroom showcasing the 800 Series Shelving, Limelite Conference Chairs, and a 12-person Zig Table in Oxide Red. A flexible presentation space leads out to a terrace fitted with outdoor furniture and elegant potted olive trees, while the dramatic staircase is adorned with an acoustic replica of the Grafton Chair pattern.

On the first floor, the workspace area features Work2.1 Core sit-stand desks paired with Solon and Logon task chairs. The second floor is dedicated to the Education Zone, where KI's iconic Postura+ range, Hatton Stools, and Sutton and Sebel chairs demonstrate the brand's versatility for all age groups and learning environments.

Designed collaboratively with concept architects work.place.create, main contractor IKON Group, and delivery partner Design with Narrative (DWN), the showroom retains the original Piero Lissoni-designed staircase and floor-to-ceiling glass partitions, enhancing the sense of space and light.

The showroom stands as a testament to KI's mission: "to create happy, healthy, high-performing working and learning environments" through thoughtful design and sustainable engineering.
