The store boasts new bathroom and kitchen showrooms, a free design service with expert consultants, and an installation offering. Customers also benefit from local delivery services and a click & collect option.
This location marks the second of four former Homebase sites being converted by Wickes. Of the 30 roles created, 17 have been filled by former Homebase employees, contributing to local employment continuity.
Sarah Taitt, chief property & services officer at Wickes, stated the opening on 4 July demonstrated the retailer's "commitment to sustainability", highlighting the installation of an air source heat pump to lower the building's carbon footprint.
Taitt added that the team is "proud to create further employment opportunities" and aims to deliver "reliable home improvement products and expert guidance" to the local community.
