At the end of June, forestry companies in northern Germany finalised preliminary contracts for softwood sawlog deliveries for Q3 and the second half of 2025. Notably, prices for cut spruce and long logs have risen, with the most significant increases reported in western regions.

Market data indicates a strong uptick in demand for coniferous logs. According to the HMI reporting network, 60% of participants observed increased demand for spruce logs in June, while 30% reported a rise for pine. Looking ahead, expectations remain high, with 80% forecasting further growth in demand for both spruce and pine.
These developments reflect a tightening market for structural timber across Europe, with implications for supply chains in construction and manufacturing sectors.
