Bespoke
i-did was a manufacturer specialising in the design, production and supply of furniture and interior products. The company profiled itself with a strong focus on customisation and sustainable production methods. Besides its own production, i-did had branches in The Hague and Utrecht, where development, sales and distribution took place.
As a supplier to IKEA, i-did played an important role in the Swedish store's supply chain. The company produced various furniture components and complete pieces of furniture that were delivered to consumers via IKEA. Their integrated approach from design to production and delivery helped them gain a prominent position in the market.

The bankruptcy
The bankruptcies were declared in mid-2025. Trustee Mr J.P.M. van Beek of the firm Van Beek & Partners Advocaten is in charge of winding up the bankrupt companies. Reasons for the bankruptcy include financial problems due to rising costs and changing market conditions within the furniture industry.
The bankruptcy affects not only i-did Factory, but also the supporting entities i-did The Hague and i-did Utrecht, bringing the entire group to a standstill. This also means that deliveries to major customers such as IKEA have come to a standstill, which could affect the supply chain.
Future
The liquidator is now exploring options for selling the assets and preserving jobs where possible. For customers and suppliers of i-did, it remains uncertain how the situation will develop further. For the furniture industry, this bankruptcy is a signal of challenging times in a sector under pressure from rising raw material prices, logistical problems and changing consumer behaviour.
